Rava/Sooji/Semolina - 11/2cups
Buttermilk-11/2cups
Crushed pepper corns & Cumin- 11/2teaspoons
Green chilly-1
Urad dhal-1teaspoon
Channa dhal-1teaspoon
Oil-1tablespoon
Eno fruit salt-3/4teaspoon
Salt-1/4teaspoon
Grated carrot-2tablespoons
Roasted cashews-few
Method
Heat oil in a kadai. Add the channa dhal and urad dhal and let it become golden color.
Add the crushed peppercorn &cumin, chopped green chillies, fry for a minute.
Now add the rava and roast it for 5-7 minutes(till the nice aroma comes from rava) on low heat. Let it cool completely.
Transfer the rava to a bowl, add the buttermilk and salt. Mix well and keep aside till the time you are about to make the idlies.
Heat water in the idli pan, slightly grease the idli plates and keep little carrots & cashews in each plates.
Mix the eno fruit salt and little water to adjust the consistency of the rava batter.

Keep the plates in the idlipot, heat it for a minute(this helps the stem to block the holes in the idli plate) then pour the batter to 3/4th of the idli plate.
